The stark contrast of this Bob Dylan poster by Milton Glaser provided an excellent opportunity to get creative with the framing. We joined white & black frames of the same shape to mimick the silhouette.

Fabric liners are typically used to add depth and space between a painting and the frame around it. Rarely do we use a fabric liner that’s wider than the frame itself, but we think it looks stunning in this example. It’s subtle cove and the character of the natural silk speak to the luscious fabric of the skirts the girls are wearing.

These 5 African Scrolls posed some unique challenges. The paintings were on very thin cloth and attached to hand-carved dowels on the top and bottom. We wanted to protect their delicate construction while maintaining an ideal visual display. We settled on a way to nest the dowels in the backing fabric so there was no risk of movement and raised the paintings above to create a shadow effect. The entire piece (over 5ft. long!) is protected by UV acrylic for longevity and surrounded by an olive-wood veneered frame to compliment the rustic dowels.
