Secrets of the Framing Masters
Framing starts with your artwork. Members of our knowledgable staff guide you in choosing from thousands of matting, mounting and framing options.
Once you have decided on a design for your artwork, the raw materials are ordered from our many distributors. Upon arrival, mouldings, mats and other supplies are lovingly remeasured and inspected for quality.
The craftsman uses his or her discretion as to the best method to approach each project. Usually the first step is to join the frame. At the Alley Gallery, we do things the old fashioned way: a drill, brads and trusty wood glue.
Next comes the painstaking process of cutting, gluing, hinging and fitting. The gallery is stocked with paints, glues, fixatives, and all the tools & hardware necessary to make your vision for a piece a reality.
Once all the final touches are complete, the piece is inspected one last time by several sets of eyes to insure everything is perfect before you take it home.
